McDonald’s has come under fire from a TikTok user for boosting prices to the point where they are no longer reasonable.
The man was taken aback to discover that the fast food chain restaurant charged him more than $16 for his typical order, which consisted of a large fry, a Smoky Double Quarter Pounder BLT burger, and Sprite.
In the USA and most of the world, living expenses have climbed dramatically as a result of the recent strong spike in inflation.
Unfortunately, the formerly inexpensive takeout options have also become more expensive, so Americans can no longer rely on getting cheap McDonald’s dinners.
The creator of the TikTok post that went viral and garnered a lot of attention, Christopher Olive, claims that a few years ago, this meal—which he currently pays over $16 for—cost $10 or even less.
In the video, he says, “I know salaries are growing, there’s a labor shortage, and a lot of other things, but sixteen dollars?
A burger, a huge order of fries, and a drink cost sixteen dollars. It’s simply absurd.
Thousands of comments have been made on the film by the thousands of people who have viewed it online. Most people believe that paying $16.10 for a burger, fries, and drink is absurd.
“McDonald’s prices for Five Guys?””It’s crazy,” someone said, to which Christopher retorted.
“Go to the store and buy hamburger meat, it’s officially not convenient or affordable anymore,” another person remarked.
A third person said, “I make a lot more of my own food these days because of stuff like this,” to which the TikToker answered, “Exactly.” I was somewhat surprised to learn that 90% of the food I eat is homemade.
However, some contend that we should keep in mind that rising costs have an impact on the entire supply chain. Furthermore, they assert that Christopher ordered the most expensive item on the menu.
“You got a quarter-pounder of DOUBLE DELUXE BACON, which is literally the most expensive option on the entire menu,” one person said, while another said, “Bro ordered the most expensive meal they have and acted surprised.”
Some others have shared advice on how to cut costs when eating at McDonald’s.
“Get the app now. Literally, a meal at McDonald’s costs less than $6 each time.
Another person said, “Use the McDonald’s app; they occasionally have 50% off and other offers.”
